Human Rights Education Project

The main focus of the project is to propagate Human Rights Education among Sierra Leoneans.

The aim of the project is to create the required awareness-raising about the fundamental rights and dignity of people.

The objectives are to galvanize the energies, expertise and resources of Human Rights organizations to address cases of Human Rights violations, and to popularize Human Rights Education through procession, seminars, radio discussion programmes and jingles.

The target beneficiaries include Sierra Leoneans, especially students of secondary and tertiary institutions, NGO’s, CBO’s and Human Right Institutions.

The activities of the project would include an organization of a meeting with Human Rights Groups, and other stakeholders, writing of invitation letter to schools, colleges and civil society groups, printing of education promotional leaflets, the formation of a planning and implementation committees to plan the necessary activities, organizations of a procession of Human Right Institution and other stakeholders.

Dramatization of Human Rights starts during the one day seminar, and an organization of radio discussion programmes in selected radio stations.

About Hurrarc

HURRARC (Human Rights Respect Awareness Raising Campaigners) is a Sierra Leone NGO based in Freetown. It was founded in 1992, by Sahr GMP Fania together with other refugees from Sierra Leone at the time of the outbreak of the civil war, to document the Human Rights Violations being committed by all parties. HURRARC has been registered as a Community Based Organisation (CBO) with Freetown City Council.
